StockPing Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

StockPing provides financial asset prices and price alerts. This policy describes the information used to provide the app and your choices.

App installation and alerts

StockPing does not require an account. The app creates an installation identifier from random characters, the device model, and the creation time, plus a separate random access key. Both are stored together in this device's Keychain and are not synced to other devices. Our server stores the identifier, a digest of the access key, your alert rules and status, notification history, notification permission status, and any device push token provided. This information is used to keep installations separate, evaluate alerts, and deliver notifications. If you delete and reinstall the app on the same device, the Keychain record may remain and your previous alerts may reappear. If that record is unavailable, the app creates a new identity. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete server records.

Market information

Our server obtains market information from Yahoo Finance and stores current quotes and related source data to show prices and evaluate alerts. Your alert thresholds and notification content are stored on our server so alerts can work while the app is closed. Prices and alerts are informational and may be delayed or unavailable.

Analytics

First-party analytics is on by default and can be turned off in Settings. Analytics may include the installation identifier, app and operating system versions, device model, language, region, time zone, app sessions, screen and feature interactions, asset codes, request outcomes, and event times. Search text, alert thresholds, prices, access keys, and push tokens are not included in analytics events. Turning analytics off sends a final setting-change event and stops optional interaction events. Basic app initialization, cold-start, and return-to-foreground events are still sent. Events that fail to send are not stored for later delivery.

Push notifications and network data

If you allow notifications, StockPing sends your device push token and notification content through Apple Push Notification service. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings. Alert events remain available in the app when system notifications are disabled. Standard network information, such as your IP address, may be processed when you connect to our service for operation, security, and diagnosis.

Your choices and contact

You can pause or delete alerts in the app, disable optional analytics in Settings, and manage push permission in iOS Settings. Deleting an alert removes it from your list and stops monitoring, but prior notification records and an internal deletion record remain on our server. We do not currently apply an automatic retention period to installation data. StockPing does not use your information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking, and does not sell your personal information. For privacy questions or to request deletion of server-stored installation data, contact wilkzhaochen@gmail.com. If you know your installation identifier, include it to help us locate the records.

Changes

We may update this policy as StockPing changes. The date above will show when it was last updated.
